Up-cycled Kitchen Cabinets

For this house that received less that 4″ of water during the last flood, we converted used but high quality furniture into low cost functional kitchen cabinets. They feature, 4″ adjustable metal legs (water resistant), two drawer based cabinets attached together, and a ceramic tile countertop to tie it all together.

We think these alternative kitchen cabinets came out great!

Costs

It is tough to give a price for these, as it depends on the materials available. In this instance. The cabinets were purchased for $150/each. Cutting, attaching and making a hole for the sink was about $500. Countertops would be a similar price. Adjustable metal legs were also added to bring the cabinets off the floor, in case of a small flood.
